What made you start CrossFit?
After finishing a round of physical therapy, Coach Joe Fiore had me try some workouts
(incredibly scaled!) and I realized that I could actually do this! I seriously needed it for my health, because I was definitely overweight. I had always been intrigued, but I never really believed that I could be an athlete. I loved the variety from the very beginning!
What do you enjoy most about CrossFit?
I love the feeling of accomplishment I get when I finish a hard workout. The fact that I can share it with my friends is even better.
How has CrossFit affected your everyday life?
I have lost somewhere around 50 pounds since starting. My diet now revolves around what will make me perform better (usually!). Although I’m not terribly strong, I am so much stronger than when I started. That just makes life easier! I like to think that my coordination has improved, as well as my energy level. All of these things have just made me a happier, more productive person. The friends I have made are the best, too!
What are some of your current CrossFit goals?
I would like to get a lot better at double-unders and be able to get more pull-ups. Actually, the list is long!
What is your proudest CrossFit moment?
I’d have to say that getting 3 pull-ups in this year’s Open was pretty exciting! Also, that first rope climb was really fun, because I had waited so long to be able to get it!
When you aren’t at CrossFit Enhance, what is your favorite thing to do?
I like listening to all sorts of music, hanging out with my family, and loving on my dog Peanut!
What would say to someone considering to join CFE?
It doesn’t matter where you start; it only matters that you keep walking through the doors and giving your full effort. Results will come!
