2018 CFE PACEMAKER INVITATIONAL

This years Pacemaker will take place on Saturday, February 17th beginning at 8am! If you are not familiar with the Pacemaker, this is a competition CFE does every February and is closed to only CFE members! This competition is intended to provide anyone in our gym the opportunity to have a taste of competition, with multiple scaling levels and judging standards created to allow for athletes of all of levels to participate! The competition is a male-female pair competition, and this year we will have 3 levels: Rx, Intermediate, and Scaled. For a good reference, think about Scale 1 as "Intermediate" and Scale 2 as "Scaled". This year, we will have 3 podium spots for each division! 

The registration form is now open at the gym on coach Casey's desk. Please list each partners name and shirt size (women tanks or unisex T's) and what division you would like to compete in. If you do not have a partner but would like to participate, no worries! Put your name on the registration form and leave the other slot blank and we will help to match partners together! The price for your shirt and to compete is $20/athlete! We will begin releasing workouts in the coming weeks. Registration will close on Tuesday, February 6th!

WHO: Any athlete that wants to have fun and compete a little bit!

Event 1 – “EKG”– AMRAP 10

WOD Description 3.2.1 GO… Starting with the female athlete, teams will alternate full rounds of 12 OHS/Front Squat (Scaled) and 12 C2B Pull-ups (Rx), 12 Chin-over bar Pull-ups (Intermediate), or 12 Jumping Pull-ups (Scaled). See detailed movement standards below.

Event 2—“Erg Chipper 2.0” – CAP 16

WOD Description: 3.2.1 GO…. Teams may choose which athlete starts on the rower. Teams will accumulate the required reps for each movement before moving on to the next. All reps may be partitioned between partners as desired, excluding the DB Power Snatch, which all 20 reps will be completed by each partner in synchronized fashion. This workout is For Time with a 16 minute cap. See detailed movement standards below.

Event 3 – “”— FLOATER WOD – AMRAP 4

WOD Description: 3.2.1 GO… Teams may choose which athlete starts on the barbell, and will alternate full rounds of the complex. Athletes will complete unbroken sets of 6 Deadlifts, 4 Hang Power Cleans, and 2 Shoulder to Overhead. If the athlete releases the bar at any point, their set does not count and they must switch athletes. See detailed movement standards below.

Event 4 – “REDLINE” – CAP 10

3.2.1 GO… Teams may choose which athlete starts on the burpees, but the “non-working” athlete must be in a forearm plank while the “working” athlete is completing lateral burpees over their partner. Rx athlete must perform a two-footed jump and land while Intermediate/Scaled may step over their partner. Teams may alternate reps as desired. The teams will then move to 60 Wallball Shots, split as desired, 60 or 45 TTB/Heels Above Hips, then back down 60WBS, and 30 Burpees over partner. This workout is for time but has a 10 minute cap. See detailed movement standards below.
